Calculate how many yards of fabric you need to sew curtains or drapes based on window size, fullness, and hem allowances.
Window Measurements
Finished length is from the rod to where you want the curtain to end. Add 6-8 inches to puddle on the floor.
Fullness and Style
Fullness multiplier determines how gathered or full the curtains look when closed. 2x is standard for most homes.
Decorator fabric is typically 54 inches wide. Quilting cotton is 44 inches. Sheeting can be 90-118 inches.
Hem and Header Allowances
Double fold hems: enter the full hem depth (e.g. 4 in for a 2 in double fold). Header includes rod pocket and any return.
